About horsantenne.be

horsantenne.be is the portal of the humorous sports news titles published from Brussels by Second Shift: grandchelem.be (tennis), horsjeu.be (football), horscourse.be (cycling), sortiedepiste.be (Formula 1) and aubuzzer.be (basketball). It is published in French, Dutch and English.

What the portal does. Every ten minutes, it reads what each title has just published and puts it on the antenna: the dispatch’s title, its standfirst, its illustration, the columnist’s name and the date. Nothing more. The dispatch itself is read on the title that wrote it, where the source, the transparency note and the newsroom page live.

What is true. On every title, each dispatch starts from a real, sourced and verifiable fact; the main source is linked at the end of the article. Quotes attributed to real people are reproduced as they were said.

What is invented. The columnists’ reactions. They are fictional characters, presented as such on each title’s Newsroom page. None of them takes sides for a club, a player or a team.

How it is made. On every title, dispatches are written, checked, illustrated and published by a chain of artificial-intelligence programs, with no human review before publication. A human editor sets the rules, adjusts them, and can pull a dispatch at any time; pulled from its title, it leaves the portal at the next pass.

Images. The visuals are the titles’ own: illustrations generated by an image model from a scene written by the site, in a flat drawing style, never photos or portraits.
